My Brain is Melting and so is the Plot
Wook flu, weird books, and White Lotus knockoffs.
Still recovering from the post EDC plague and blaming every last sniffle on my friends’ hotel AC settings. While my lungs begged for mercy, I filled the void with culty fiction, chaotic sisters on screen, and behind the scenes Sex and the City gossip. If you need me, I’m somewhere between Bunny induced hallucinations and desperately missing movie theater popcorn.

Sirens – Always a thrill to have Milly Alcock back on screen, but my first impression? Kinda giving White Lotus knockoff. You’ve got the creepy vocalizations, blinding costuming, unsettlingly bright sets, and that slow burn rich people dread. I’m not sold on Meghann Fahy’s character. Crashing your sister’s work event over a family crisis is peak chaos energy. I’ve coordinated events before and interruptions like that make you want to walk into the ocean. I get that it’s the plot, but I was firmly Team “Hire a Nurse and Let Her Work.” Alas, no conflict = no show.

Bunny by Mona Awad – Just cracked it open and already I can feel my brain melting in a fun way. Sorority horror meets literary fever dream? Let’s go.

Are You A Charlotte? – Apparently I’ve decided it’s time to revisit Sex and the City, and what better way to spiral than with Kristen Davis whispering behind the scenes gossip into my ears? It’s cozy, nostalgic chaos. Bonus points for the moments where you remember just how unhinged the original series was.

Got wiped out by the dreaded wook flu. I knew I shouldn’t have trusted my friends’ obsession with hotel AC that rivals a meat locker, especially with the gale force winds on day 2. Haven’t set foot in a movie theater since. Honestly, feels like part of my soul is dying from withdrawal.
